The foundation of a smooth finish
Professional hardwood floor sanding
A controlled sanding sequence removes old finish and surface wear without taking more wood than the job requires.
What to expect
A recommendation based on the floor in front of us.
Sanding is skilled preparation, not simply running a machine across the room. Flatness, grit progression, edge work, corners, and scratch removal determine how the stain and finish will look.
Peter provides free estimates and completes the work with a focus on preparation, honest communication, and details that hold up after the room is put back together.

Common questions
Before you decide
Every floor is different. These answers are a useful starting point; an in-person look determines the final recommendation.
Is floor sanding completely dust free?
No responsible contractor should promise zero dust. Peter uses modern, well-maintained equipment to capture and contain as much dust as practical and cleans the work area carefully.
Why does the grit sequence matter?
Skipping too quickly can leave scratches that become more visible after stain or finish. The sequence is adjusted to the coating, wood, and floor condition.
Do edges get sanded too?
Yes. The perimeter, corners, and other machine-limited areas need separate attention so the whole floor accepts color and finish consistently.
